In coordination with the Nepali Embassy in the U.S., a mobile consular camp was successfully conducted in Columbus, Ohio and Kentucky. The camp was held last Saturday and Sunday in Kentucky, and on Tuesday and Wednesday in Ohio. According to Dr. Damodar Paudel, the Honorary Consul based in Ohio, over four hundred service seekers benefited from the mobile consular services.

The camps were organized locally under the coordination of Dr. Damodar Paudel, Honorary Consul for the State of Ohio, with support from chapters of the Non-Resident Nepali Association (NRNA). Dr. Paudel reported that around 250 individuals received services in Kentucky, and more than 150 in Ohio.
He further noted that for Nepalis residing in these areas, traveling to the embassy in Washington, D.C. for services like passport renewal is costly and time-consuming. Therefore, having the embassy team travel to provide services directly to the community is highly valuable. The embassy in D.C. has been providing mobile consular services in locations with significant Nepali populations across the U.S., which has helped ease access to essential services like passport renewals and others for the Nepali community.
