The Nepali Embassy in Bangkok has forwarded the names of more than 200 suspected human traffickers to Nepal authorities for investigation and legal action. The individuals are accused of facilitating the trafficking of Nepali nationals to illegally operated online scam centers across Southeast Asia.

According to the embassy, the names and addresses of over 235 suspected traffickers have been submitted to the Human Trafficking Investigation Bureau of Nepal Police for further investigation.
“We have sent the names of more than 235 individuals to the Human Trafficking Investigation Bureau for further investigation and action,” Nepali Ambassador to Thailand, Dhan Bahadur Oli, said. “The information was collected directly from victims.”
Since the start of Nepal’s current fiscal year 2082/83 (2025/26), the Nepali embassies in Thailand and Myanmar have rescued and repatriated nearly 700 Nepali nationals who had been trapped in online scam compounds operating in Southeast Asian countries.
The move comes amid growing concerns over human trafficking networks that lure Nepalis with promises of lucrative jobs abroad, only to force them into cyber fraud and online scam operations under exploitative conditions.
