On Sunday, through the website of the Office of the Prime Minister and Council of Ministers, Prime Minister Balen Shah along with other ministers made their property details public.

Prime Minister Balendra (Balen) Shah
Prime Minister Balendra (Balen) Shah has disclosed his property details.
According to the declaration, 5 aana of land in Ward No. 9 of Kathmandu is in the name of his mother Dhruvadevi Shah, and 1.2 bigha of land in Dhanusha. Similarly, 9 bigha of land in Mahottari is in the name of his father Ramnarayan Shah.
Balen has stated that he and his wife Sabina own 190 tola of gold, sourced from ancestral property.
He has disclosed NPR 14.6 million (1 crore 46 lakh) in his bank account. His sources of income are listed as Facebook, YouTube, and Spotify. He has also included his number of followers on Facebook, YouTube, and X as part of his assets.
Finance Minister Swarnim Wagle
Finance Minister Swarnim Wagle owns houses and land in four different districts.
He has an apartment in Sanepa, Lalitpur worth NPR 20 million. Another house in Bhainsepati (Lalitpur) valued at NPR 50 million sits on 4 aana 3 paisa land. He also owns an apartment in Dhulikhel, Kavre worth NPR 37.5 million, and a house in Bandipur, Tanahun worth NPR 20 million.
He stated that these properties were acquired through international employment, sale of private residence, bank loans, and personal borrowing.
He also owns multiple plots of land in Kathmandu, Gorkha, Chitwan, and Tanahun under his and his father’s name.
Wagle owns 45 tola of gold and has about NPR 19 million in bank deposits. He also holds shares in multiple companies and banks, including hydropower and development banks.
He has taken loans from various banks totaling several million rupees, some of which have already been repaid.
Foreign Minister Shishir Khanal
Foreign Minister Shishir Khanal owns a house in Tokha, Kathmandu, built on 6 aana land, which is ancestral property.
He also has ancestral land in Tanahun, Nawalpur, and Nepalgunj under his father’s name.
He owns 22 tola of gold, 25 tola of silver, and NPR 1 million in cash, along with deposits in multiple banks. He also holds shares in several companies and microfinance institutions.
He has outstanding loans taken from banks and individuals.
Home Minister Sudhan Gurung
Home Minister Sudhan Gurung has disclosed land holdings in Dhankuta, Chitwan, and ancestral land totaling 221 ropani under his family.
He owns 89 tola gold and 6 kg silver (ancestral). His bank deposits include amounts in Laxmi Sunrise, Nabil, and Sanima banks.
He has invested in multiple companies and holds shares worth over NPR 27.4 million in the stock market.
He also owns a car purchased for approximately NPR 4.8 million.
Minister for Women, Children and Senior Citizens Sita Badi
Sita Badi owns 18 tola gold and 15 tola silver received during marriage.
She has houses in Kathmandu (in-laws’ name), Surkhet (her name), and Nuwakot (husband’s name).
She has NPR 50,000 cash and about NPR 1.5 million in banks. She and her husband hold 5,600 shares. She owns a scooter and her husband a motorcycle. She also owns 20 chickens and one dog.
Energy Minister Biraj Bhakta Shrestha
He owns two ancestral houses in Kathmandu.
He has 15 tola gold and 50 tola silver. His bank deposits are spread across several banks and cooperatives.
He holds shares worth about NPR 14.5 million and has a loan of NPR 5 million. He owns three vehicles including a Land Cruiser and EV.
Minister Pratibha Rawal
She owns a house in Budhanilkantha, Kathmandu, and land in Bara.
She has 25 tola gold and deposits in multiple banks. She holds shares and has an outstanding bank loan. She also owns a vehicle worth NPR 4.4 million.
Law Minister Sobita Gautam
She has NPR 1.05 million in bank deposits, 15 tola gold, 9 tola silver, and 1 tola diamond.
She has taken loans for vehicle purchases, and her husband has also taken a significant loan for the same purpose.
Agriculture and Forest Minister Gita Chaudhary
She owns 5 tola gold and 100 tola silver from ancestral and self-earned sources.
She has NPR 126,000 in bank accounts and owns a scooter (partly financed by a loan). She also owns livestock including goats and chickens.
Tourism Minister Khadkaraj Paudel
He has invested NPR 2.5 million in a digital library project.
He owns property under relatives’ names and has multiple bank deposits. His family also owns land in Pokhara.
He has investments in shares, loans for house construction, two scooters, and operates a farmhouse business worth NPR 20 million.
Education Minister Sasmit Pokharel
He owns 25 tola gold, 100 tola silver, and cash.
He has bank savings and land under his parents’ names. His total assets are valued at around NPR 241.6 million, with NPR 7.5 million in loans.
Labor Minister Ramji Yadav
He owns 80 tola gold and 150 tola silver.
He has ancestral land in Saptari and over NPR 7 million in bank deposits. He also owns a motorcycle, laptop, and mobile devices.
Infrastructure Minister Sunil Lamsal
He has NPR 9 million in bank deposits.
He owns a house in Rupandehi and land in Nawalparasi and Syangja. He also owns 30 tola gold and 50 tola silver.
Communication Minister Dr. Bikram Timilsina
Most of his immovable property is in his wife’s name.
He owns a house and land in Nagarjun, Kathmandu, and has lent NPR 4.8 million to individuals.
He owns gold, silver, bank deposits, and a car purchased in 2022.
Industry Minister Gaurikumari Yadav
She owns multiple plots of land in Kathmandu and Bardibas, as well as other properties.
She owns 180 tola gold and 2 kg silver, has NPR 1 million in bank deposits, and shares worth over NPR 33.8 million.
Health Minister Nisha Mehta
She has NPR 1.7 million in bank deposits.
She owns land in Kirtipur and additional property in her in-laws’ name. She also owns 30 tola gold and 50 tola silver.
All ministers’ property details, including that of Prime Minister Balen Shah, were made public on Sunday evening by the Office of the Prime Minister and Council of Ministers.
Among the ministers, Education Minister Sasmit Pokharel appears to be the richest, with total assets worth around NPR 24.16 crore (approx. 241.6 million rupees), despite having loans of about NPR 7.5 million. He has significant holdings in gold, silver, land (under family names), and bank savings.
